Once Upon a Time...
Blended families have inherently complicated dynamics. So how do you address the complexity of these family units in a simple way?!
Enter SkyGate Studios animation.
With a story that weaves situations like divorce, death, split parents, step parents, children and stepchildren, less proved to be more.
We used blue, green and pink generic figures to track the characters and put them in a fold-out book world! The approach made the story with its complex situations easy to follow and fun to watch.

Layout Design
Achieving the popup book effect required world building with inginuity. Every set was design to transform with sliding, folding and pageturning effects.
Character & Prop Design
In a popup-book-world full of blended families, recognizable character design was key. In telling each of their stories a long list of props with creative designs was also imperative.
Animation
With bombs exploding, easter eggs rolling, everything folding and pages turning, the animation had to be smoothly done and perfectly synchronized with narration.
